It started with family.
The VelRod Charity was born from the Veloz and Rodriguez families — Dominican families who never forgot where they came from. What started as informal trips to bring supplies to children in the countryside became something bigger: a commitment to show up, consistently, for the communities that needed it most.
Over five years, we've grown from a family effort into an organization that has served over 700 children across rural Dominican Republic. We've distributed school supplies, food, clothing, and essentials — not as a one-time gesture, but as an ongoing relationship built on trust.
We don't do savior stories. We do partnership. We listen to what communities need, we show up with resources, and we come back. That's the model. That's the mission.
